Claire M. Menke
Anthropologist. UX Researcher. People Nerd.
I am a User Experience researcher and manager with more than 5 years of experience conducting research in a mixture of industry and academic contexts. Recently I’ve specialized in web-based software product research, currently in the EdTech space. I’m experienced with establishing UX practices in start-up environments, and enjoy the challenge of managing and scaling teams to build company cultures around the customer.

My research philosophy:

I believe in empowering communities of people.

I believe in the scientific method and discovery rooted in hypotheses.
I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to research. Each question is unique. Each problem has a unique solution.
I believe that quantitative and qualitative data work best together to inform holistic approaches to problems.
But more than anything, I believe that humans are unique, inspiring, curious, complex, fascinating, and often hilarious creatures. Getting guided tours of other people’s worlds is what I love most about user research.
